Posterior Polar Cataract with Capsule Rent
by Garry P. Condon MD, Michael Snyder MD
Dr. Garry Condon presents a posterior polar cataract case using a spatula to separate cortical material of from the lens capsule. Upon polishing of the posterior capsule with the I/A tip, the posterior capsule ruptures. OVD is used to tamponade the processes and stabilize the chamber. In between a viscoelastic sandwich, the capsular opening is converted to a posterior capsulorhexis with microforceps and a single piece acrylic lens is rotated in the bag.
