Angle closure is much more common than generally thought, and it falls into three categories: suspected angle closure, primary angle closure, and primary angle-closure glaucoma. Key to diagnosis is careful gonioscopy, but this examination is difficult to perform. Robert Feldman, MD, of The University of Texas Health Science Center, discusses his team’s research on the variable reproducibility of gonioscopy among glaucoma specialists and on other methods by which to assess the angle objectively.
