Steven Vold, MD, Chief Medical Editor of Glaucoma Today, speaks with Anurag Shrivastava, MD, assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, about his article on the impact of cataract surgery on glaucoma management. Dr. Shrivastava explains when it is it appropriate to use cataract surgery, canaloplasty, and cataract surgery combined with microinvasive glaucoma surgery to benefit a glaucoma patient. He shares that how he likes to stage things as much as possible, such as performing cataract surgery alone with MIGS, then performing trabeculectomy or filtration surgery down the line.
