Episode 29: European Perspective on MIGS

European ophthalmologists currently have access to many more devices and procedures for microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) than US ophthalmologists. Moderator Steven Vold, MD, Chief Medical Editor of Glaucoma Today, asks Herbert Reitsamer, MD, of Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg, Austria, to describe how he is using the various options for MIGS in his practice. According to Dr. Reitsamer, European ophthalmologists are now intervening surgically earlier in the course of the disease. At present, Dr. Reitsamer says, MIGS involving the subconjunctiva and Tenon capsule holds the most promise, and he shares his experience with the Xen45 (Allergan).
