Symptoms of burning sensation in the morning.
when it is symptomatic
Whenever it is evident on slit lamp exam, whether or not the patient is symptomatic.
When patients have symptoms and signs of lid margin disease - scales, crust, collarettes, meibomian gland disease, etc.
when pts. having hyperaemia scales at the roots or protrusion at the post.margin.
with or without symptoms, whenever it is evident on SLE
Very frequently. I diagnose it primarily pre-operatively and in a large majority of patients with dry eye symptoms.
Interesting perspective - have you thought of posting it to Web-MD?
so diverse is the case ranging from merely on symptoms to signs. some patients may be asymptomatic with even sever signs while others may have severe symptoms with minor signs. u need to treat both as surgery cannot be put on risk. so high index of suspicion is needed
At every visit!
When I see a thick margin of lid or gluent lashs
When I see crusting, dryness, turbid or purulent secretion on expression, eyelid redness or vascularization.
