Extrusion of the iris following hydro steps is managed by removing the viscoelastic through a third paracentesis with an aspirating handpiece. Healon 5 (AMO, Santa Ana, CA) expand the pupil and tamponade the iris. Dr. Fine proceeds with biaxial phaco to remove the cataract.
