EX-PRESS Glaucoma Filtration Device

Dr. Ike Ahmed, MD, presents a 62-year-old African American male with an intraocular pressure of 25mmHG, who is currently on four glaucoma medications. The video of the case begins after the conjunctiva flap has been created. Dr. Ahmed demonstrates the implantation under a scleral flap, constructed in as a rectangle with a depth of 50%. A 25G EDGEPLUS trocar is inserted on the iris plane at the anterior aspect of the scleral spur. The surgeon places the EX-PRESS glaucoma filtration device through this entry and sutures the flap. Conjuctival closure is accomplished with a running horizontal mattress suturing technique. Viewed 9849 times.
