AcrySof IQ Toric IOL in High Myopia

Jonathan Rubenstein, MD, presents a high myopic patient with a 2-3+ cataract and 2 diopters of cylinder. Using an astigmatic marker, Dr. Rubenstein marks the axis and then makes a 2.4mm incision. After instilling DuoVisc OVD, the surgeon uses microcapsulorhexis forceps to make a 5mm capsulorhexis. Since the nucleus is fairly soft, the surgeon cores out anterior cortical material then uses a technique which involves a central groove and debulking the floor of the nucleus. After polishing the posterior and anterior capsule, the bag is refilled with VisCoat to prepare for AcrySof IQ Toric IOL implantation. Viewed 5514 times.
